The Story

Our literary posters borrow from classic Frankenstein iconography such as a huge rectangular head and electric green mist while maintaining the gothic-romantic themes of a Byronic struggle with the purpose of life by drawing on classic images such as Wanderer above the Sea of Fog for inspiration. As with “the monster” we aim to stitch together the old to create something new.

Our Frankenstein Gallery Wall Set tells the story at the centre of the original work, (the impossibility) of finding one’s purpose. The monster searches for answers and stumbles across a graveyard. Reflecting on his place in the world he comes to an unknown conclusion. He then moves with resolve and dominates the previously oppressive arctic landscape having gathered a sense of meaning through contemplation. This results in a celebration of romantic-gothic decor more optimistic than the original Frankenstein story whilst retaining the original's darker themes.
