How much are shipping costs?
Shipping rates depend on the destination of the delivery address. We advise reading our Delivery Information to understand the shipping for your region.
We have done our best to keep these costs low whilst getting your items to you in good time. We are able to offer free delivery for all UK orders over £25 and all International orders over £60.
Will I need to pay customs fees?
Beyond the Shelf is based in the UK. It is difficult for us to say for certain as that depends on your delivery address and the total cost of your items.
Customers are responsible for ensuring compliance with the laws of their country and paying all applicable customs duties, import charges and taxes. However, these charges should be less expensive than platforms which build these costs into the product price such as Etsy.
Further information can be found on our Delivery Information page.
Where is my order?
Please ensure you check your order confirmation email, as this should include information about your delivery time.
- Orders to the UK should take 1 - 3 business days from dispatch
- International orders should take about 3 -11 business days from dispatch
Further information on deliveries and potential delays can be found on our Delivery Information page. You can also Contact Us and we will be happy to respond to any queries.
Unless you select tracked shipping at checkout, we have no sight of your order once it is in the postal system.
If your order does not arrive within 20 working days following the estimated delivery window, we are happy to provide a replacement or offer a full refund. We respectfully ask you wait the 20 working days after the estimated delivery date as we have found deliveries usually arrive comfortably within this window.
How do I return an order?
We hope you will love your bookish purchase, but if you would like to return it, please see our Refunds and Returns page for our terms and guidance.
My order has arrived damaged - what should I do?
We want our items to reach you in the best state that we send them out in!
If you order is affected or damaged by the postal system, please email us at info@beyondtheshelf.co.uk. Please ensure you attach proof of damage in transit and we will be happy to replace or refund.
Do you use AI in your production processes?
Many of our watercolour designs make use of AI during their production processes to some degree. Some, such as, To Kill a Mockingbird or Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe do not. Often, we use AI to create and test concepts and scenery. If we feel images generated represent our vision, we may heavily edit and then utilise aspects for the final product alongside our work using Adobe’s creative suite. AI is one tool among the many we use to realise our creative ambitions and share portals into worlds we have read and loved.
Can I customise the print I want?
Yes, our prints can be customised!
You can use the free text field during the checkout process for common customisations including:

Can I suggest a new print idea, for a book that isn't on your store?
Yes! We love learning about books we haven't covered from passionate fans, and can accept suggestions from our subscribers. While we cannot guarantee all suggestions will be created, if yours is selected, it will be dedicated to you on our website.
If you want to submit your suggestion, please subscribe using the subscription field at the bottom of this page. Then get in touch using our Suggestion Box page once you receive the password in your welcome email.
What materials do you use for your products?
Unfortunately, we cannot reveal the particular paper, ink and frames we use to create our prints - trade secrets!
- We use the highest quality materials to ensure our prints are vibrant celebrations of our favourite books that last a lifetime.
- Our frames are made of real wood and have some weight to them! We use plexiglass instead of glass to reduce shipping disasters and for less surface glare.
- Our T-shirts are 100% soft cotton, and our sweatshirts are a blend of cotton and polyester. Both are produced locally by a Platinum WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) Certified supplier.
Can I feature or review your shop on social media or my blog?
Absolutely! We welcome features, and take on board both positive and constructive reviews. We aim to continuously improve, provided the feedback is fair!
We are @beyondtheshelfco on Instagram and Facebook. Please do tag us on relevant platforms using the social icon links at the bottom of the page.

How do you decide which prints you create?

We welcome suggestions and requests for more prints using our commissions process detailed below.
