Our The Wind in the Willows Title Page art print inspired by Kenneth Grahame celebrates old friends, shared adventures and the proper pleasure of doing very little.
Part of our Title Page collection, this literary print pairs words and imagery to express what the story means to us. It is our interpretation of the work, rather than a reproduction of a published book cover.
The Story Behind the Design
"The best part of a holiday is perhaps not so much to be resting youself, as to see all the other fellows busy working."
Friendship is at the heart of The Wind in the Willows. From the stern yet protective Badger to the impulsive yet optimistic Toad, we can see people we know in each of the animals. Or, as U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt said about the animals, we "come to accept the characters as old friends."
Our art print uses a The Wind in the Willows quote and a picnic illustration from the novel to capture the idea that it is around our oldest friends we know the true meaning of relaxation. Particularly, when we know others are busy not relaxing!
A Place for This Print
