The Story Behind the Set
The Divine Comedy defines our collective conception of a Western Christian afterlife and has influenced innumerable depictions and philosophies since its completion in 1321. Although not published in writing for over 100 years after its completion, in 1472, the work became a titan of literary, artistic, and religious traditions.
Our Divine Comedy Gallery Wall Set draws on famous quotes and uses both William Blake and Gustav Doré artwork to create a Divine Comedy collection that is both faithful to its rich history and speaks to contemporary audiences. From the towering gates of Inferno, the tender passions of Purgatorio, and the peaceful bliss of Paradiso.
