Storyport merchants travel across worlds to bring you extraordinary teas. Our RPTeas collection imagines the brews of Aldermere, Beyond the Shelf’s own fantasy world.
From its arcane scholars comes Scholar’s Forbidden Draught: a Tie Guan Yin oolong with raspberry, rose, roasted cacao and Ugandan vanilla, inspired by experiments in forbidden knowledge.
Flavours
Tie Guan Yin oolong keeps this blend firmly tea-led, with raspberry bringing fruit and rose adding a fragrant floral layer. Roasted cacao lends subtle depth rather than a chocolate-heavy flavour, while Ugandan vanilla rounds the blend with gentle sweetness. It’s an elegant balance of berry, flower and darker notes, intriguing without becoming an overtly sweet confection.
Born of an attempt to imitate the Potions Guild’s closely guarded mana potion, this is a cup to fuel the curiosity of readers drawn to forbidden libraries, curious scholars and questionable experiments.
The Tea Experience
Appearance: Oolong leaves mixed with raspberry pieces, cacao nibs, rose petals and vanilla.
Flavour: Raspberry and rose over an oolong base, with subtle roasted cacao and vanilla depth.
Serving: Enjoy plain to explore the balance of oolong, fruit, flowers and cacao.
The Merchant's Dispatch
From the Phthisic Arcane Scholars of Aldermere
For centuries, ambitious scholars have sought to reproduce the extraordinary powers of the Potions Guild's closely guarded Archmage's Reserve.
One such undertaking produced Scholar's Forbidden Draught.
Although the experiment failed to have the same effect as the Guild's original creation, the resulting potion had different beneficial properties. Those who regularly consumed the drink were in turn consumed by a limited capacity for knowledge.
Naturally, the experiment gained a following among those whose curiosity exceeded their caution.
The Storyport merchants obtained their supply from a scholar so absorbed in his discoveries that he'd forgotten what darkness he intended to inflict with them.
The merchants considered this a reasonable warning. They bought the tea, but declined his collection of symbol-filled manuscripts.
