The Story

Rebecca explores the relationship between the unnamed narrator, her wealthy new husband, and the haunting memory of her husband’s late first wife. While constantly caught up in Rebecca’s legacy, our narrator tries to learn how to be the new Mrs. De Winter, and then how to be her husband's new wife. Gothic and unquestionably feminist in its portrayal of a woman's strength, Rebecca is classic literature with amazing twists surprising new readers to this day.
