The Story
"There will not always be scientific men, perhaps. But there will always be poets."
Despite prevailing misconceptions, Five Weeks in a Balloon is the only of Jules Verne's novels to feature travel in a hot air balloon. Five Weeks is the first of Verne's "extraordinary voyages" and audiences quickly realised their hunger for travel in a world becoming smaller by the day.
Our bookish print uses 19th-century hot air balloon artwork and a Jules Verne travel quote. Here, as in his works, Verne does not privilege art over science. He is part of a wave of writers born from that industrial century and appreciates the power of science, particularly, in making travel possible. Nevertheless, it takes a poet to tell a story, and, as we know, there will always be an appetite for stories. This results in a vintage book poster perfect for readers and book lovers looking for literary gifts to curate an authentic bookish decor experience that stays true to this literary classic.
This bookish art channels a retro sci-fi aesthetic to make an excellent writer gift for the reading corner of any poet with big ideas!
Take Jules Verne's Five Weeks in a Balloon beyond the shelf with our book poster. This book cover art print adds exhilaration to any home décor - a great bookish gift for the book nook of book lovers!
