The Story
Centuries-old stories reach from the past and carve attitudes and expectations among readers and writers. The myth of Circe is no exception and the woman-scored narrative is due for some adjustment.
Madeline Miller's Circe reframes the myth through a female perspective and reclaims the story of a "woman scorned" into a story of a harrowing journey of acceptance. Who knows what the world would look like if our Circe story was told around the time of the original?!
Our literary print attempts the same adaptation and uses artwork expressing the old story of Circe as a malicious jealous witch ultimately defeated by the sword. Instead, our print uses the grandeur in the artwork and a feminist quote to lean into the feminist sentiment behind the new story - witches are not so delicate as to be defeated by such straightforward weapons. This results in a book poster perfect for readers and booklovers looking for literary gifts to curate an authentic bookish decor experience that stays true to the themes of this contemporary classic.
Our bookish art uses a Circe quote and classic art to channel dark academia themes in the creation of a bookish feminist poster - a perfect bookworm gift for a reading corner for showcase on booktok and bookstagram.
